One of my three favorite Chinese restaurants in Ames (the other two are Szechuan Express and Wok'n'Roll) --- Taste Place has the most startling hot spicy dishes of the three, so when I really want that zing, this is the place to taste.
Hot and Spicy Chicken is full of small bones. This was not stated on the menu on their website, so carefulnOverall the food was meh and will never order from them. 888 is the place to order food from in Ames for Chinese food!
The best authentic Chinese place in Ames hands down! Their Hot Pot, their entrees, and especially their Dry Pot is amazing. The staff is friendly and helpful with the menu. Fairly priced and can get a much steamed rice as you want.nnYou got to try their Dry Pot and their Three Treasures (Peppers, Eggplant, and Potato dish).nnI’ve never been unsatisfied here and I’ve tried many different things on the menu. Great place.
This place is the best! Food has tons of flavor, it’s fresh, and the beverage selection is amazing. The staff is friendly and warm. The cumin chicken is so irresponsibly seasoned and one of the best dishes I’ve had anywhere. If someone asks me for Ames restaurant recommendations Taste Place is the first, and often only, place I will suggest. Cannot recommend enough.
I've been to this location over the years, as it has changed names and ownership, and I still enjoy it just as much as the first time. Excellent food.
