My wife and I used to go sledding on the 13th Street Cemetery Hill here when we were kids and we just came up to Iowa and were visiting after a big snowstorm and both my children had never had a chance to go sledding yet so what a better place then the old Hill that we used to go down as kids so glad to see the city still allows this to be used Ames is very good about keeping up their parks and recs
Best sledding hill in the area
Ames parks are well maintained. I am very impressed by some of the work they have done such as the volleyball courts at Inis Grove or concrete work at South River Valley. They work very self-sufficiently. I took my engagement photos at Moore Memorial Park and I was proud to do so in the well maintained park. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is because I think they need more full time staff to help maintain all of the new parks they have added in the past decade.
