Reviews
There are some awful reviews for this school, but it is changing quickly. Pelham became its own school district last year. Just driving by the school, you can see the improvements. The curriculum is changing (added STEM programs and other exciting things), there are many renovations under way, and the city and school board have been very supportive of school activity groups. It is now a great school, and is getting better every year.
Graduate of 2005! Marched in the drumline and the set in jazz band. Wouldn't change a thing of my memories! Best school in Shelby county!
Was a good school back in the day.
So proud of the city of Pelham and their efforts to set themselves as a progressive school district. Pelham has much to be thankful for as we move forward. GOPANTHERS!
Well, for one, as a band student, the band room gets little to no funds in comparison. Examples such as the new cafe they installed, they used half a million compared to the 70k flicked towards our hard work. We have more trophies in ten years than compared to the collected trophies ever collected from the football team. Also exactly how many football games have we won, excluding john carol because I think we all know why, just this year alone. Exactly. Four or five years ago they went through a cleaned out at least 30 or more trophies from our band because we had literally no room and the room was being overflown from our notes of success.nnAlso, some of these teachers are horrible at their job, one such as an advanced science teacher, her curriculum is taught at such a fast pace and so unexplained, rushed, almost like she wants them to fail. Only five people are passing her class at this point. And even the well known smart people have a D in her class. Last year alone only two people passed, and only one with truthful noteriety.nnMost of this school is worn and unupdated, almost all of it is unkempt.nnAll I gotta say is that this school should be put to shame, compared to the new high schools being built such as in alabaster or even in Athens.
