What a beautiful place! Located within a WMA, you'll need hunting licenses to see this stunner. Just a shame that people ruin such beautiful places with spray paint.nThere's another fall just up the trail from this one that is equal in size and beauty but does not land in a nice swimming hole like this one. The trail down is extremely washed out which makes this a strenuous climb out.

Is not much of a hike, just a walk along a gravel road. The descent below the falls is a little tricky. The falls are very beautiful, especially after a heavy rain. If you walk just downstream from the big falls, take a left where two streams meet you will find a second waterfall just a little smaller than the first.

Went there many times in the 70s. Can’t believe it hasn’t been trashed or builders haven’t destroyed it.

Looked up hikes south of Birmingham and Google revealed this place. What a pleasant surprise! There’s barely a parking and the entrance is almost not signaled, so you’ll really have to rely on your gps to get there. Once on the path, follow the one in the sunlight that leads you down and you’ll reach the top of the waterfall. There you will be amazed at how tall the waterfall is! A trail to the right of the waterfall takes you to the bottom of it. Too bad this great natural place had been heavily vandalized with bright graffiti. Otherwise a very pleasant spot.

The trail starts out on a gravel road through a clear cut with no shade and not much to look at. The service road has no ruts or elevation but still feels like an obstacle to overcome before you get to the old woods in the canyon. After reaching the creek there is a pretty narrow trail along the rim that can feel a bit challenging and becomes challenging when you are descending to the bottom of the waterfall. The overhang behind the falls is huge and although the fall itself was not very impressive the backdrop made it quite spectacular. If you follow the creek downstream for about a 100 yards you will come to another small creek on the left and a path that follows that side creek to an enchanted looking, smaller waterfall. We followed the main creek for quite a distance through an old camp side and enjoyed the scenery. A worthwhile trip to not so well known waterfalls.nThe gravel road through a clear cut passing an oil derrick led to a one star deduction.
