I was there at 7:30 a.m. a short line of maybe six customers including me outside at 33 degrees. By then checked in with the sergeant there and he said to go to the other side which could not fulfill my order and gave me his phone number and I called him and he told me to wait in my car and did not come back in. He said he would call me when it is my turn no number system, I waited four hours and called him every hour and he said I could come in. I saw people come in 2 hours after me and go through and get there their purchases and then leave but I saw more people coming in then leaving in 4 hours of waiting in car. And when I went in, my purchase took 10 minutes and no others behind me in line. Now, how is it I am there before open and in line, and people come in after me 2 hours later, and leave before me. My transaction took 10 minutes. I'm 53 and have work to do to attend to, but teenagers are cutting in front of me I guess. 4 hours wait for 10 minute transaction and only 12 or less in front of me. Even Texas was better than that. Pelham was faster with more people.

Surprisingly efficient and friendly for a government agency. The line was reasonable at 9am in the middle of January. They are sticklers for proper documentation, but that's the nature of the dmv.

Arrived at 8:30 in the morning. No sign in sheet, no way to check in. Someone came out 45 minutes later, and said they wouldn't be able to get to me until after lunch (which would be three or four hours).... seems like that would have been easy to communicate, if this place had been properly staffed. But I guess that's typical. There were seven or eight people waiting, and only one person working. Welcome to Alabama.
