Shelby County Sheriff's Office

I've been in Shelby County for the better part of my life, and I have never had any involvement with a Sheriff's Deputy that was anything less than pleasurable. They have been quick to assist with any issue, helpful at events, and an obvious source of security in our county. These ladies and gentlemen are an asset to this county, and paragons to the badge.

Forrest is unaware of the right to record in public. That includes a public lobby at any time. The onus is on the sheriff's department to provide a location away from the public view and hearing range for witness interviews or statements. Meaning you need to take a person into a backroom where recording isn't allowed so the person's business isn't heard by people walking in the door.nnTo be trespassed from a public building. One first has to be breaking a law, such as drunk in public, creating a disturbance.nnMore good old boys enforcing opinions and egos, while walking all over the rights of the public, and the laws they swore to uphold. This is why people do not like cops. They don't even know their jobs yet try to enforce it on others.

In the middle of a pandemic have, can't hardly work make money or do anything else, and during the middle of these hard times when you're officers should be helping you give me a ticket bc my windshield tint comes down a little too far, thanks for the assistance in these hard times Shelby county, i know you really care about the people you serve

Very misinformed on the law. These LEO’s are scary stupid. How that LT got into that position of leadership blows my mind. I am a former officer in the US Army and it is shockingly the level of ignorance in this dept. Please be careful, and know your rights if dealing w/ these people.
