Beautiful view of Lake Guntersville. Quiet campground with playground and arcade for the kids, basketball and tennis courts. Putt putt course that is in poor condition. Staff is friendly and courteous, but new owners don't do as much maintenance. Lovely chapel and several boat docks.nnU P D A T E: Well, here we are, several years later, and the putt putt course is even more dilapidated, there are more potholes in the roads and the restaurant has been destroyed. Certain campground rules don't apply if you're a friend of an employee. Shoreline is full of gunk...bad fishing.

I just want to clarify the record, I talked with Angie the assistant manager about the problems with upgrades. Let me be clear in stating that the staff here is outstanding they get five stars My complaint is with the corporate who is not giving enough resource's in money or equipment to complete the necessary repairs/upgrades to upkeep the condition of the resort a term I would not use to describe the property. For the valid reasons just given, I still give one star overall. Give more support to your people on the ground, that's what I pay all the money for membership and grounds maintenance for!

We joined a couple months ago here at Mountain Lakes. We have been at Styx River Resort, which we enjoyed, for the last 3 weeks. They have a restaurant, the indoor pool is open, and there was bingo, cards, and ice cream socials at the clubhouse. They made it work, even in covid times. We came back up here and nothing! The pool is still closed, no one picking up your garbage like at Styx, nothing has been done to the restaurant they are supposed to be rebuilding...I am nervous that we may have made a mistake.

Very impressed. Clean, quiet, attentive, friendly staff from the front to the back. The ladies up front were extremely helpful and a joy to speak with.Spacious sites with full hook ups and ours had a concrete pad. Our arrival was delayed Monday evening by almost an hour, but the security guard was waiting for us, explained everything to us, led us to what he described as next to the best site to see the sunset over the lake (#61) and guided us in to the site' lining us up perfectly with the concrete pad. Covid has stemmed some activities, but not a show stopper. Cook's pest control was on hand sweeping cob webs from the main lodge, apparently in quick response to an observation by another review earlier in the month. Property managed by Ocean Canyon Properties and this property has a fantastic selection of cottages to choose from if you don't RV or if you want family or friends to enjoy the site with you. Can't wait to get back and spend more time at Mountain Lakes!
