My husband and I just completed our 7-day stay in this campground. It was an excellent visit. We ventured out from there to see many local sights. The camp itself was very quiet with lots of families enjoying the park. There was not a lot of boating or skiing, of course, since it was early in the season. We very much enjoyed our visit in Alabama.
I've been coming here for as long as I can remember. Absolutely love the lodge and the golf course. There's a beach area of the lake where everyone swims and a couple different boat launch locations close to the campground. Power water and sewer hookup at most of the sites if not all of them. You'll have to check with the front office about the sewer hook up sites. Playgrounds and basketball courts for the kids, ride your bikes around the park, or sit and relax looking out across the lake. The office also has some items for sale if you forgot to bring something and also has items for your camper if needed. Its not a huge store or anything just basic items but definitely comes in handy. Highly recommend you visit. Deer usually are wandering around the park and along the roadside as well so be careful driving especially at night when they're moving around.
I've been visiting/camping at Lake Guntersville State Park since I was young boy, when it was named Little Mountain State Park. My family and I love the campground, and we've been bringing my kids here since they were very small. Now, we bring our grandkids!nnUnfortunately, tornadoes took out most of the trees a few years ago, but the campsites are still nice, there's easy access to the bath houses, and rec area is great for all (tennis, basket ball, splash pad, playground)
I went there a couple of times. I saw a huge group of deer walking around both times. They are use to humans and will approach you but please do not feed them. I love the trails and how peaceful and relaxing it is. I would live there if I could.
We are from Florida and my husband was there for business and I was tagging along with him. We decided on a whim to stay at the park and we stayed in the cabins by the lake. We loved it and I love to take wildlife pictures as well as Sunrise & Sunset pictures and it didn't disappoint me. Lots of birds, deer and I even found one of the eagles nest. It was almost right across the lake from our cabin. I can't wait to go back.
