This is an amazing spot. If you're lucky, you'll get a site right on the Tom Bigbee waterway under the shade of pines and hardwoods. At first I was taken aback by the Mississippi culture; apprehensive at first but kind and welcoming. This place is great for a holiday weekend -- it's packed with campers outdoing one another with the lights at night around their sites. Kids on bikes are everywhere and everyone is friendly. All for $22 a night.nnWhile you're here, make sure you visit some of the local towns (like Aberdeen and Columbus) to get a flavor of the area. Also, there's a great local restaurant called Friendship House that serves steaks and seafood (catfish and shrimp).

This is a peaceful campground with great lakeview sites. The area is well maintained and the staff and camp hosts are all friendly. This is our favorite place along the Tombigbee.

Clean and well maintained campground with lots of waterfront options on the banks of beautiful Aberdeen Lake.
