The Campground reservation system used a bait and switch style to make a reservation with a Senior park pass. Normally we get a 1/2 off discount for a campsite using our pass. Not a this Campground. At Clear Creak Campground they split the cost of camping into three different parts so that they don't give us the 1/2 off discount. $16 for campsite $8 for electric $6 for water. The discount only applies to the Campsite. We have camped at lots of COE campgrounds and this is the first time we don't get 1/2 off discount. You would think with the extra money that they would update the Campground.nThe driveway at the campsites are very uneven and difficult to level your RV. No parking or bike racks at the trail heads. Most of the Raven trail had no markers or trail markers were unreadable or broken. When we were there much of the park was flooded. So sad because this could be a nice place to camp.

This could have been a great spot. COVID restrictions gone too far... All but one restrooms closed. The location of that one? 30 minute walk from our camp spot. No problem for me, but simply doesn't work for everyone. Why force all who don't have a $200k+ motor home with onboard toilet to go to one restroom? How does that help stop the spread of COVID?nThat rant aside, the park is nice, albeit a little run down. Time for the feds to spend some money on federal managed land!

We reserved the twig group site for camping. Even if you dont have a big group its so worth the extra money. Especially during Carona Virus. It was secluded, had a bathroom that was only shared with one other group site. I never ran into anyone at the bathroom, and it was clean! The lady at the check in was so nice! The group site twig was literally the nicest/coolest camp site I have ever been to! Have 3 tent pods with room for 2 tents on each one. Also some other spaces for tents if you had to have more. Plenty of parking and barely any cars drove by the whole time we were there. Ill definitely be coming back!

This is a national forest campground. Ice and firewood are available at the entrance. The day use/swim area is pleasant and well maintained, with an open and clean restroom and shower. The campgrounds had all the bath houses closed except in Bear Loop, and that was only open for tent campers and was not nearly as clean. If you tent camped in another loop, or prefer not to use the bathroom in your RV or trailer, you had quite a walk (or drive) to the one open bathhouse. There was no mention of the closed bath houses on the website.nThe camping sites were pleasant and very clean. Even the fire pits and charcoal grills were cleaned between guests. Campers had to pack out their own trash to the dumpsters near the park entrance, next to the dump stations.nThe lake itself is definitely best visited if you have a boat. Other than the one swim area (no pets allowed) there was no good place to swim, and fishing from shore was not productive. But for folks with boats it looked like water skiing, fishing, etc. were fun.nAll in all, our week of camping would have been better if the bath houses had been available, and if the campsites were located closer to the water (we were close, but it was down a steep wooded hill, so we couldn't just walk to go fishing or swimming). It was a peaceful experience, with lots of trees (and shade) throughout the campground and some nice hiking and biking trails. Compared to other federal campgrounds we've stayed at, I would give this one a B-.

Very nice, quiet campground on a beautiful lake in a national forest. The campground itself was clean and the camping sites were very spacious and well maintained. The distance between campsites is good, you are not stacked in on top of each other like some places that I have been and there is plenty of shade throughout the campground. We had an incredible view of the lake, or as my two year old granddaughter called it, the pool.nThe only issue I have is that all the bath houses were closed except in Bear Loop, and it wasn't very clean at all. If you were camped in another loop you either had to use the bathroom in your rig, which fills up your tanks pretty quick or hump over to Bear Loop. It was a little frustrating because there was no mention of the closed bath houses on the website and that would have been useful information because, number one, we choose the campsite that we did because of its proximity to a bath house and secondly we would have brought our sewage tote had we known. It was a small inconvenience but our experience would have been better and it would probably have been five stars if the bath houses had been available.
