Really beautiful views from this spot and lots of great hiking. The southernmost terminus of the AT.
Very good trail. However, its better to go when it is relatively cooler outside and less humid.
Did a 20 mile backpacking trip over the last weekend of April. Weather was great. Don’t let the hills fool you! Trail was marked pretty good in most places. Parts of it were sketchy. Stealth camping is pretty much what your going to be doing. A couple of great spots to do so. One around mile 11 Oslo gets a beautiful Creek in a gorge right a couple miles past Capertons. Another beautiful spot around mile 16.2. It actually had a fire ring and picnic bench.
Nice little hike. Although I do struggle going up the steep parts. Sadly, the tower was closed due to a wasp infestation. Hope to go back and explore more and finish the loop.nnInsta: @chasafulkersonnTiltok: @chasafnRizzle: @chasa
