Our Integrity Works

How can you call yourself Our Integrity Works when you have no integrity?nnWe used this company to paint our house and they did a wonderful job. When our pipes froze in February, we contacted them immediately to do the repairs. We initiated getting them set up with State Farm and (after a lot of hassle getting them set up) they called at the last minute to cancel because they didn’t have time to do the job. I understand being busy, but I can’t help but feel they canceled our job in favor of a bigger more profitable job.nnI’m not claiming they do poor quality work. We were happy with their work; just not with their integrity.

Giving a generously average review for a lot of reasons.nnRyan was great to work with. He was very helpful to ensure the deadline I requested was met.nnThe quality of work I give a 7/10. Our integrity Works chose to use subcontractors and Ryan was up front about that. What was a little unsettling is how inconsistent some of the communication was throughout the job over the span of about 2.5 weeks. This was a 4 figure job, closer to 5 figures, new construction and unfortunately there is a lot of paint runs on the walls and drops of spilt paint on the floors.nnI paid 1/3 of the balance as a deposit to get on the books and received the rest of my invoice requesting payment prior to having anyone from our integrity works come out for a final walk through to ensure the job was completed to my satisfaction. The silliest part was the scope of the work reflected on my original invoice was about 85% complete yet I was charged the full amount. When I brought this up, the remaining balance was adjusted so that worked out appropriately, I think.nnI had a conversation with the owner, Mrs. dean, explaining why I had yet to pay the remaining balance and it was because just about everywhere I turned there was another paint run on a wall or something needing touch up. She told me it would have been nice to know about it, but that doesn’t really fall under my burden of proof because anyone taking a close enough look would be able to see noticeable flaws. Our conversation seemed to be more about what was needed to get the invoice collected versus how to get the problems corrected. During the course of our conversation, we were interrupted by Mr. dean. He stayed on the phone just long enough to say what he wanted to, yet when I went to respond he cut me off repeatedly (3-4 times) and said he didn’t want to argue with me. It was a discussion, no one was arguing.nnI was given excuses and the run around with regard to material lists, how many times our integrity works had used the subs the chose for my job, what the subs were getting paid and more.nnI was told by Mrs. dean there wasn’t much mark up on labor, yet I inquired with the subs what they were getting paid and there was a very big difference. When I brought this up to Mrs. dean she said that was “unethical on the subs part”. What was? Being told the truth when I asked them a direct question.nnMy conclusion after having a conversation voicing my concerns, it seems as though “our integrity works” tends to focus on their biased definition of what integrity means and they pick and choose how they want to apply it to their jobs, employees and work ethic.nnThe whole point was from one small business to another, I’d think any owner would want to know about inconsistent communication, blame shifting and feedback on the quality of work performed.nnHow mr. dean interjected and then abruptly cut me off was so far from professional.nnThe best part of this experience was getting my bill paid moving on.nnRyan, I really do appreciate all you did to get my job complete. It’s just a bummer how I was treated thereafter. It’s not my responsibility to come up with ways to resolve issues to problems I didn’t create. And there was NO creative way or suggestion the deans chose to offer in trying to ensure I was completely satisfied. Again, it’s evident they cared more about collecting on a bill than their integrity and making things right. I got a 5 minute lecture on overhead and COGs instead of anything productive that would have given this review another star or 2.
