I have mixed feelings. About 85% of people were not wearing masks when on the website it says it’s mandatory. People in crowds huddled together at some exhibits not wearing masks especially the ones you have to walk through to get to other exhibits so it’s like there is no way around it, when on the website and at the zoo they have signs saying mask up and social distance. So if you want to feel safe with your family at the zoo well sorry to break it to you nothing is enforced. I saw zoo employees walking through the crowds of people with no masks and not social distancing and not saying anything multiple times even upon entry. And this is prior to the lift of the mandate. So I was hoping to feel safe. Paying 60$ For 4 is steep for all the construction going on especially when no one is practicing precautions. Now, when I got away from the large crowds I had a lot of fun in the sun with my boys. Definitely do the sting ray exhibit it cost extra like 4$ a person but that was the best part and even my 13 year old thought so. Overall I love this zoo, I’ve been coming here since I was a little girl. Just wish that would enforce the safety precautions like they say in their website. I had already paid (which is non refundable no matter what) and drove 2 hours so I had to make the best of it and just pray that the measures my family took was enough to keep us safe. I can’t wait for the construction to be over and for things to get back to normal so it can be a more enjoyable experience for the price:
What a great zoo! My family and I went for the first time, and we had a great time! The weather was perfect when we went, so it was a nice day to be outside. There were a lot of animals to look at, and the zoo was HUGE, so you will have plenty of walking to do. It was also good to see the new construction being done, and to see what new animals that they would be getting in the future. We will definitely return again!
It's not 1# zoo.
One star because the main attractions weren’t there!!! Lions, tigers, zebras!!! Over crowded and no masks. The new giraffe exhibit was amazing. Definitely worth it. That was the only fun thing. They should let people know that the main animals you want to see aren’t there due to construction. Anyways I’ll be back to edit my review in 2023. Until then Dallas zoo it is
Please encourage your guests to follow your own guidelines. There are signs throughout the park mentioning you require masks. I would say 1 in 10 patrons had on masks. We ran into several groups of teenagers who didn't even have one with them and were clearly over 10. Make sure you have the staff to enforce distancing in the enclosed spaces. Every one we entered today we immediately had anxiety because most of the patrons are not wearing masks or using them as earrings or chin guards. We even saw families where the kids had on masks and the parents didn't. Honestly ruined our experience today and we left within an hour. Get your safety guidelines together and enforce them so we can all get through this.nnMario was the only employee who seemed to care. He made a comment to my wife about entering the train from the other end and she mentioned waiting where we were because we were uncomfortable with all the mask less patrons. He immediately went over to that large group and asked them all to put on their masks and even took my son to the front of the train when we were done. Lone bright spot of the day.
