Beautiful nature, river right near camping area. Needs better bathrooms, one was flooding.
This is a great well laid out park, I need to go back and explore it in more detail
Beautiful park with pecan tree shaded sidewalks that twist and turn alongside a creek that flows with water that is blue and somewhat clear. There is a small waterfall, a couple of foot bridges, and beautiful stonework areas for sitting. There were informational boards now and then with facts about Native American history in the area. If you like to walk, or run, you'll definitely want to go to this park.
The owners at the Millican Pecan Company suggested we stop here. The land was donated by one of their ancestors. The entrance is on the same street as the store. Nice place to take it easy and relax. Also connects to the San Saba River Nature Park which has a mile or so of very smooth, paved paths (suitable for a wheelchair)
There are 3 parks in San Saba that I know of, Risien, LCRA Nature Park, and Mill Pond Park. They are all wonderful. What a great park system for such a little town.
