This sanctuary is so beautiful and peaceful. It’s like being transported to another world. There’s plenty to see from the trails on any given day: squirrels, turtles, birds... What I really enjoyed was sitting by the wildlife feeder, where the animals come to you, without you even having to lift a finger ud83dude0a
Such a treasure! I wish I could have walked around and inside. Sat down on the steps. But I am very grateful that the cabin has been preserved.
I love coming to this nature sanctuary which reminds me how the local Houston area looked before it has been developed and how we can change it to be more natural and back to the original harmony of nature. Nice trails with shade. By the way the front gate is locked for covid-19 by you can get through the gate next to the Methodist Church
Small but great for a nice walk, very peaceful, lots of shade. Loved seeing a variety of birds at the bird feeders.
TLDR Super fun little pocket park, perfect for relaxing walk when you don’t want to go far but still peep some wildlife without driving too far outside of Houston.nnGreat little park with well maintained trails. There are a few benches scattered throughout and even a wildlife “tower” that elevates you about 10 feet and big enough for one person. Maintained by the Houston Audubon Society. The bridges are sturdy, well marked, and well maintain. Lots of criss crossing short paths make it easy to get lost while looking for birds, but the overall size of the park is quite small. If you’re looking for a hike hike, this isn’t for you, unless you’re a toddler. Small pond with lots of turtles, cute fat squirrels, and saw a few cottontail rabbits.nnNo dogs permitted as per signage
