1st visit to this fort and was pleasantly surprised. Numerous markers are placed around the forts buildings to tell you the forts long history. Definitely a great place to check out.

Very interesting land mark.nPlease wear your mask to protect the elderly couple running the museum. They seem to not be concerned about their health and tell everyone that a mask is not required inside the museum. Not sure if they have a death wish, but I preferred to protect their well being.

In comparison to some of the other (many) frontier forts one can visit in Texas, this is not spectacular at all. However, it was one of the first line of forts in Texas. The docent at the visitor center was very friendly and knowledgeable.

Love the historical fort. I can only imagine what life would have been like, back in the day.
