Perfect dog park...not as large as Sawyer but with many trees for shade and water spigots on both sides (all dog and small dog). Nice gazebos on both sides and several benches for sitting and chatting with other dog owners.nnMost of the owners are very attentive to their dogs and stop any inappropriate behavior when necessary.

Great place to take your pooch to get their exercise. Friendly people and well behaved pups. They will definitely sleep well after a trip to this park.

Eh. Vettiner dog park just ok. The actual off leash area is quite small in comparison to the rest of the park, which includes beautiful rolling hills, playgrounds and workout stations. My dog and I had more fun running all over. My biggest complaint about the Louisville/ Jeffersonville area is the insistence on exclusionary dog park practices, where one cannot even use or enter them without going through the hassle of getting a dog license and registering with the parks department. This is the only city/ area I've lived where this is the case and I've lived in 6 states. In Texas where we came from there is a much more dog friendly attitude, with more public places with dog welcome rules and all dog parks are free and open dawn to dusk. I've never had a problem with any either. Here my best bet is Garvin Brown Preserve, where all dog owners and dogs who come usually are off leash and everyone is chill and the dogs are friendly and well behaved. I mean truth is good owners are the ones who bother taking our dogs out and to parks or train them so there's usually good people at them. However exclusionary tactics make for anxiety and stand offishness in the humans attending and I think that carries over to the dog.

Nice park with a more rugged feel.they live trees and bushes for the dogs to explore vs. Just a flat space to run. Very nice

Attention out of town visitors! All dog parks in Louisville apparently require a pass. A fellow dog parent took pity on my baby's puppy dog eyes, and checked out her vaccination tags before letting me in with him. I'm thankful that he did! It's a beautiful dog run. Tons of space both shaded and open. Running water, baby pools, and poop stations if you forget a bag.
