I have been a sole proprietor hairdresser for many years and my husband has had his company for many years In construction as well, combined 45+ years. We have had multiple CPA’s work on our taxes. I used this company based on suggestions from a local app for two years now and will never use this company again. A 75% increase in doing taxes from last year to this year is unethical especially since nothing has changed except not having funds to pay due to the hardship of COVID-19. We actually were two days earlier than last year on paying the extension and last year we weren’t charged any penalties, it was only $750 last year. This year when I asked why a 75% increase in paying $1312.50 he said he increased his price without warning and that’s that. I am not only a hairdresser but I’m also a nurse and the money that I bring in does not constitute such a price gouge. No formula did he have to extensively exhaust to do our taxes. This guy would not even tell me if we were getting a refund until he was paid, he didn’t even offer to go over our return before paying and said we had to pay him before getting any knowledge of any information. What if he made a mistake and we wanted it corrected before sending?? All my other CPA’s have always given me knowledge on what was being done. I can see this is not how Randall does business, but as I have unfortunately come to learn I cannot do business with him. Please let me know for all you ladies out there, if I were to do a color and cut on your hair that I have continuously charged you only $100 and the next time you come in to get your hair done with no other formula or exceptions, increased my price to $175, and did not warn you about the price increase...how many ladies would return?? Nothing changed, no other hilites, nothing extra given??? Also, Kelsey S. Who works for Randall should be disqualified from reviewing since he is her boss, not a fair review. Also, after reviewing the Texas State Board of Public Accountancy it states that upon a clients request that the CPA shall provide a copy of the return even if the client has not paid. He actually said would not give me any information until I paid. I think I will be reporting to the board after this.

Mr. Pairett was very helpful in providing professional advice for my tax related issue. Instead of charging, he informed me how I could fix the issue at no cost. Will definitely use in the future if I need an accountant.

My parents have used Randall Pairett for their tax returns for several years with no issues (they are in their late 80s). We knew that his prices were higher than others, but his office is so convenient and he seems to know what he is doing. The 2018 tax year included a gift of equity to their children due the sale of a rental home and when asked about the tax implications Randall said it would just mean filing form 709 and it would not be a big deal. In reality, my parents received a bill for $975 when Randall normally charges $275 for a joint return. When I asked why the bill was more than 3 times the normal amount, he responded via email that it was for 2 tax returns as the gift tax returns have to be filed separately. When I questioned again why not $550, he responded by saying they are more difficult to do. (My own CPA says it takes about 10 minutes to complete). I emailed him in response to try to negotiate the price, since was so unexpected and unreasonably high. He basically said, the price is the price.nnI later realized that the $975 did not include their personal tax return that still needed to be done. When I asked his assistant how much he was going to charge for that, the response was $300! This is on top of the $975! My parents don’t have any assets other than a rental property they sold in 2018 and their home and their only income is social security and a pension. How complex could it be?!nnNext, his assistant, sent my parents an email requesting that they sign a document that states, “This letter is to confirm that you received your 2018 709 Gift Tax Return. It is your responsibility to review your tax return in its entirety.” I emailed Randall’s assistant to ask, “Since my parents haven’t received it (the tax return), how can they sign the letter stating that they have?” The reply I received was a typical example to the level of customer service that we received, “In order to receive the tax return, the letter must be signed and dated, then returned to us.” No explanation; no apology. This is clearly unethical behavior to force your clients (elderly clients, at that) to sign a document to attest to something that is not true. I DO NOT recommend anyone to use this service.

Randall is very professional and listened to all of our tax questions. He was very knowledgeable in all areas of expertise. Very friendly to talk to as well. Can’t wait to continue to work with him in the future.

Was looking for a CPA who was close by and knew what they were doing as I was working with another agent somewhere else who I learned really did not do good on my taxes and was giving not so good advice. I found Randall, read his reviews and figured I'd give him a shot Best financial decision I've made so far! He's knowledgeable and gives good advice. Anyone in need of financial services or even advice needs to give this guy a call! I now feel very good and relieved about all my future finances!
