This is Twelve Mile Island (not Embry Island, that also shows on Google maps). Nice beach area on the northern shore, Kentucky side, with stairs leading up to a clearing that’s great for socializing with other boaters. The channel between the island and Kentucky shore is considered a “no wake zone” for the length of the island, for consideration of boaters anchored and beached along the shore. Also note that, even though the sailing line is on the Indiana side, that barges occasionally will pass through the Kentucky side. Keep well upstream when rounding the head of the island to avoid shoaling and remains of scrap barge metal.
