2-3 stars because recreation.gov doesn't disclose site 21 and some other sites are walk in down steep, switchback gravel grades. Not sure why it isn't disclosed as walk in site down a hill. The hosts kindly offered a small wagon to help get gear down to site. They seemed very helpful. You park up on the road. Very small sites. Our 4 person tent with front awning went right up to firepit and a small covered area and right to post on edge of pad. Pad is not level, but would be fine if you had a small tent to better situate it. Nice amount of room between sites. Trees around the sites. Couldn't see the water from most of the walk- in sites, including this one. I'm told you can pay $2 to drive to a day use swim area, but you can walk to lake edge from inside campground.

Avid camper from the Cascade Mountains to the Smokey's and everywhere in between and this is in the top 3 best campgrounds I have ever stayed at!nnPro's - love the sites are all built onto hillsides and it seems most sites have a view of the lake or access to it. Easy drinking water and bathroom access. Showers were outstanding. Campsite #39 was amazing as well as the ones surrounding it. Very comfy and cozy. Best part were the campground hosts, specifically the hosts nearest the showers. That guy was so friendly and you could tell they were all about the campers. They even mailed back a Military bracelet i had accidently left.nnCon's - Parking up the hill wasn't terrible but what made it tough was other campers not being courteous and leaving the parking spots near the trail for folks unloading thier cars or packing up. The gate closing at 10 pm was the worst. It was stressful wanting to explore the area late afternoon and worrying about the gate closing.nnI will be back.. I give this campground a 9.8 out of 10.

We booked 3 campsite here from Friday to Sunday Morning. This was our yearly tradition and we all came from all over with the closest being from Charlotte which takes about 3 hours. Upon our arrival we were harassed by the camping host and his wife. They made us feel very uncomfortable even to the point all females & kids did not feel safe going to the bathroom. This harassment continued all night with the host and his wife being very rude, cursing, threatening, and yelling at us. When we made this complaint to the forest reserve officer he went and spoke to them. The directive was for them to stop harassing us which they did not follow. The officer had to be called an additional time for when the host almost got violent with a member of our party to include cornering a female at the bathroom. When the officer came out he stated he would tell him again not to bother us and to call him. At this time he stated if he had to come back out we would get kicked out from the campsite. The next day when we left for the boat at 12 and after spending all day on the boat and drinking the cops returned at 8pm to tell us we were getting evicted from the campsite. The officer stated this was from Friday night that the host had keep calling making things up like we were up at 4 am cutting wood and had threatened him. This was not the case at all but yet retaliation since we sought the help of the officers because of the harassment. We were Evicted from the campsite for this. The officer waited until it was pitch black out, raining , and arrived with 8 + officers. We had three sites, kids, and the closest person lived over three hours away during this pandemic. This is not the first complaint I have seen about these people and do not understand how they are still their. I am a veteran and we were paying customers I still do not understand how this has happened. We will not be going back until these people are removed. I also ask if anyone else has had similar issues with these people they speak up as camping host should not Harass or make you feel unsafe!

Great evening! Even with the thunderstorm, I enjoyed the experience as the hosts (Rex and Jennifer) were very accommodating. The campground was very well kept and seemed family friendly. I will return on my next run away from home adventure.
