Absolutely love this place, we were respectful and admired it from the windows. The wind was blowing, the sun was shining, and you could hear the water running. It was so nice and peaceful. I hope they get the chance to restore this beautiful building so it's not lost to time. Great day trip!

Very fun. Went inside alot of the walls are missing. There was a large and I mean very large spider on the brick wall in the back. Lots of bugs. It was very cool to see all of the old rooms. And it looks like they tried rebuilding but stopped. I highly recommend visiting there's a spot a bit down the road u can park look at the water and then walk to the hotel. I recommend going with people tho and not alone.

Location is at odds against the road so whatever you do when coming to see it, slow down your speed. The people who live across from this hotel won’t care if you park on their side of the road just don’t drive in their property... in the surrounding areas from this old abandoned hotel are places for picnics and camping or just wading in the cold mountain river by the entrance.nnThe whole place has plenty of history.

On our Thanksgiving trip up to Tennessee, my son-in-law took us down to the Hiwassee, down Powerhouse Rd. to the suspension bridge. We drove by this old hotel, not knowing what it was at the time. On the way back I stopped to take some photos of it. Afterwards, I looked it up and found out about some of the history. The pictures don't do it justice, it looks incredible in person, even better this time of year with the vegetation died back.
