We found ourselves parked in front of this cemetery because of a flat tire on the interstate. Pulled off and stopped and happened to be there. Of course once there it was thought provoking. When sharing this story one common comment is that it was what the people of the time believed in... I feel that is an interesting point of view given that there were also those at that time who knew that this kind of thinking was wrong even then.

I will be there to experience this place for the first time this spring. I am thankful for those who worked so hard to preserve it and help us remember our past, regardless of modern warped ideas that revolve around forgetting everything historical.nSorry Ella and Michael did not appreciate it. If we shun the things that happened in our past we cannot make good decisions about our future. And that includes our national mistakes.nMy great-great grandfather was there, and I look forward to getting close to the places he journeyed with Company E of the 17th Tennessee Infantry. Yes, he was on the Confederate side, but had no slaves. I don't know how he voted on the question of Tennessee's secession, and what motivated him to take up arms, but I look forward to asking him that and more some day when we are in a better place.

Nice and well kept grounds. Unfortunately you have to pull off the pavement to park, otherwise you are blocking others. Also found a laminate sheet of facts laying on ground. Very useful information, it just needed securely posted somewhere.

We don’t live far from here! Driven past this place a million times. We finally stopped and it was very nice. It’s very well taken care of!

Stopped here real quick on our way from Chattanooga to Nashville. It was so well kept and nice. Definitely a ton of history here. It is on our list to stop at next time we pass to fully walk the grounds and take in all the history. A more thorough review to follow...
