Absolutely worth the drive. Make sure to bring provisions, it can be slippery and very Rocky in a lot of places. Greeter Falls and Boardtree Falls were gorgeous. Loved the spiral staircase to the bottom of Greeter Falls. Will be going back to check out more of the Savage Gulf West and the other Savage Gulf's.

Great place to go with family. They have play grounds, ball courts, a ball field, volleyball court, and beautiful trails to walk. They even have sports equipment that you can sign out to use. The Pavilion is great for family reunions or birthdays.

I love the fiery gizzard trail. It reminds me of hiking in the north Georgia mountains. If you catch it after a good rain it's even better. The hiking isn't strenuous in terms of up and down, but there's a lot of hiking over rocks and roots, so you can't make real good time. Lots of interesting rocks, trees, and water features - plus the general beauty of God's architecture. There are some places where the trail runs right along the steep sides of the hill which might give some folks a bit of the willies, but the footing is always solid under you. Overall an excellent hike and well worth the trip.

Walked the Fiery Gizzard North trail and checked out Stone Door! Beautiful scenery! Can’t wait for the summer to go swimming here! ud83dude0d

Good place to get information on South Cumberland State park and they have a gift shop as well.
