We retained Mr. Black’s services in March and were really not happy with his work. The first thing, which should have been a red flag to us, is that he did not provide a contract or agreement for services when he took the retainer payment, so it wasn’t clear what we were actually paying for and how he would bill for the project. Based on our initial consultation, we expected that he would file the appropriate papers with the court and follow up with the process until the court’s determination of the case (it was not a trial, but rather a paperwork process); we believed that’s what the fee would cover. In our initial consultation with him, we were very clear about why we wanted to take legal action and what we hoped it would accomplish. However, once we got partway into the process, he told us that to get the desired result, we would need to file an additional lawsuit as a next step. He was not very responsive during the case and did not follow up with the court to provide necessary information. We would call the courthouse to check progress on the case, and they would tell us they were waiting for more information from him. When we would contact him to check on the status of the case, he would not respond in a timely fashion, if at all. We finally fired him, but he didn’t even respond to that message, until we threatened to file a complaint with the state bar association. He kept most of the retainer and did not provide us any documentation related to the case, except an invoice. We feel he was very unprofessional, and we would not recommend him.

Absolutely the best attorney ever!!!!! I really feel like he goes above and beyond for all his clients. Truly an amazing man.
