It’s a great local airport. I’ve never had any issues. Not a large selection of food, but it’s a small airport. Only taking a star off because it is one of the top 10 most expensive airports in america
Gotta love the TYS entry hall with the long fountain. Easy access from either parking or drop off. The TSA people are nice, but they have screwy procedures compared to most other airports.
Clean airport. Very easy to get around. Needs to be bigger.

One big negative while checking in our luggage. They have you leave your luggage UNATTENDED near TSA scanning machine where anyone can take your luggage which is about 20 feet from the exit doors. All the while the overhead announcements are telling us not to leave our bags unattended which was causing our collective group of passengers to laugh at this whole situation. We tried to stay and watch the luggage but a very lazy TSA agent told us to move along. Several other passengers also thought this was strange so we moved as a group about 30 feet away so we could see what happened next. It took the TSA agent about 20 minutes to set our 4 bags on the conveyer belt finally headed for the scanner and realitive safety. My feeling is that this process needs to be improved upon to keep our luggage safe.nThe airport serves its community and seems adequate in all other ways.
