I had the pleasure of working part time at the airport and can honestly say that I met some of the best people I have ever met in my life right at Alva regional airport. The airport is one of a kind and it is the combination between the tenants leasing hanger space and the city as well as the locals that come out most mornings to share conversations and coffee that keep this airport a five star must visit location in northwestern Oklahoma. It is not just for pilots their is a wonderful museum inside the airport that is full of history and information for any visitors to view for free. The airport keeps its fuel prices as low as possible so that it will increase fuel sales for local pilots as well as the commuter air traffic passing through the are. The airport is always manned with staff from 8 to 5 seven days a week to ensure the highest level of service is possible for all customers. If you have not ever visited the terminal then you should make the time to visit this one of a kind airport. You wont regret it...

Nice airport with parallel runways for now, till 18/36 gets full approval from the FAA. Then that becomes the only runway. Practically a museum of the Alva airport history in the FBO, lots of great displays. Used to have a POW camp on the north end of the field. If you have time the sandwich shop in town is great for lunch, or take a hand cut steak home from Whittet's butcher shop just down the road, cook it up when you get home and plan your trip back to get another. Damn good meat!
