Local Lion is a gem. They roast the coffee in-house! There are lots of great options, and the staff are well-trained to handle any request. Best donuts in town, too. This is a beloved go-to for locals and guests alike. The grounds and dining room are always in pristine condition. It's the perfect place to relax, study, or catch up with an old friend.
Doughnuts were okay. Better than a supermarket but not as good as some other independent bakers. A little denser than I’d hope. I went at 4pm. Maybe better earlier in the day.
The best donuts in town! I love their seasonal specials. The lavender glazed donut and sweet potato donuts are my favorites!
After a not so great experience in Banner Elk, Local Lion was a breath of fresh air! Staff was really sweet, coffee was great and consistent our whole stay, and their donuts are on point!!!
Good coffee and best donuts in town, but I gotta deduct a star due to the lack of a lion.
