78,500 people on unemployment in the state and I was the only person in this place on a Tuesday morning, not to mention I’ve been on unemployment for less than a month. Where are all the folks who have been on unemployment for months bc of “covid” ??? Plenty of space for 6 feet apart.

I filed for unemployment during the ice storm the week I was off and haven't gotten paid and you can't get anyone at MDES on the phone. I went by here today and they would not even let me in or give the time of day! As well as the WINN job center in Pearl! Sorry just cannot even begin to describe the WINN job centers in Mississippi..

This place is also a one stop shop for other needs such as transportation, utility assistance, rental assistance, job corps program, evening and day GED classes. They also put you in connection with other agencies if you are in need of help with other things like food, clothing. They also have workshops during the week like sewing, baking ,computer classes etc. They have a schedule with all they have going on and can offer to you at that moment. It is so much more offered here other than unemployment.nTruly a place to assist with needs that need to be met.

This facility has a lot to offer. And the classes are very helpful to me.
