Karibé Mexican Grill

Beware, this restaurant charges gratuity for two separate families. Although we sat at the same table, we ordered on different tickets. Three on one ticket and three on the other ticket. We still had to pay gratuity for 5 or more people even though the bills were separate. We're okay with paying tips, but not when it's a scam. Be aware and make sure you don't make this same mistake. Just left here. The hostess/waiter was not welcoming or friendly. We were the only ones there. Walked in expecting a good date day. The hostess was sitting in the back. I honestly thought she was a customer. No one else was visible. We stood for awhile then i headed to the back.nI looked at the girl and she didn't acknowledge me. Once another customer walked in she headed to the door. She seated us and I asked why she didn't acknowledge us she said she was on her break. My thoughts were a simple, I'll be with you in a min or feel free to seat yourselves would have been fine.nWe left.

I do not post negative reviews after 1 bad experience because sometimes it’s just a bad day. However, we’ve been here 3 times and every time something weird has happened. Today, we arrived and there were 4 other groups waiting to be seated with no employees in sight except the person bussing tables. He made no acknowledgement of the people at the door or any attempt to let the hostess know we were all waiting. There were plenty of empty tables but they were not cleaned off and were not being cleaned off with any haste. Once seated our order was taken but we were informed that the kitchen was backed up which would be fine however, after 40 minutes with no food on our table our waitress came by to let us know that they ran out of rice. There’d be more in 20 minutes. A Mexican restaurant out of RICE is like a pizza restaurant saying they ran out of pizza sauce! She offered fries as a substitute which was good, but I was wanting Mexican chicken and rice, not chicken on a bed of fries with queso on top. At least 2 other tables got up and left, disappointed at the wait and service. Other times we went, service was slow, they were out of potatoes once by noon on Sunday, which they only serve on Sundays between 11 and 3 for brunch. I would think they’d make sure potatoes were in stock for the one day a week they serve them. Another time, we wanted to order fried ice cream as a treat and they were out of whatever breading they use and couldn’t make any. On that same trip the rice tasted a bit odd as well. It will be a long while before we try this place again (if ever).

Nice spot! Really clean and the restrooms were clean. Food was good and the staff was nice and attentive. Met with my realtor there. The prices are good too. I was able to feed 2 for under 20 bucks. I ordered the steak and refried beens bowl with lettuce and tomatoes with cheese and she ordered an omelet with some other stuff. It was nice and no crowds around noon time. A great place to talk business and sign paperwork.

Consistently good food and service. Very reasonable prices and clean atmosphere.
