If you call in to file a complaint, the first menu says that it is #4 for complaints, the second sub menu after hitting 4 makes no mention whatsoever of which number you hit for a complaint. Additionally the HR representative I spoke with, Laurie, refused to let me initiate a trouble ticket with IT to get out fixed. Perhaps the system is purposefully designed this way.
I work for Arizona but I can see that Mississippi is the worst state when it comes to the safety and care for kids.
People please contact the media the commissioner the governor this agency does not follow federal or state guidelines. They are under a federal mandate to license you as foster and or adoption parents because they do need meet the deadlines they will tell you to re apply so the clock will restart. They do not practice due process or due diligence. You must take notice the children of this state in foster care are struggling. Mississippi ranks as the worst childcare state period. Not only am I seasoned and experienced foster and adoptive parent I have never seen anything like this. This agency does not follow up does not respond to phone calls or emails. Workers who are out sick do not have their files updated as in a case I personally can say. A workers was out for 6 weeks and all clients were left unattended including the children. Take a stand. I want to meet with the commissioner to discuss helping the children and holding this agency accountable, I HAVE NOW OPENED MY OWN FOSTER CLOSET I will help foster children in my own way, if you can do your part, go to churches, donate clothing , time whatever you can, this agency needs help, they are 50 MILLION dollars short this year 2018,I have adopted, I have fostered these children are in PAIN, they are suffering, I am in Desoto County if you have a foster child need clothing or need education on services just reach out I'm here to help
My husband and I have fostered for approximately 12. We adopted 6 and have 2 bio children. You will never know which are which. David and I are huge advocates for fostering. We have received blessing that are out of this world.nHowever, our local departments are corrupt. Sloppy, neglecting and rude.nThey talk a good game to your face for the most part but it’s a I’ll cover your back if you’ll cover mine when it comes to behind the scenes work.nLacking in family connections with foster children and etc... for example,nYou go to Car dealership and every employee is tending to your every need. They make sure your every need is met and promise you the world. You buy the car, drive it off the lot. The next day some little something happens, maybe a light came on and you don’t know if something is wrong or it’s just the sensor so, you call the dealership only to find out that no one has time to talk to you. You are put on hold and passed from one department to another. By the time you have told your story to 20 different works you soon learn no one takes care of warranty. It’s was all a big story just so they could get their hooks in you.nSame was with DHS ( child services).nTheir motto is children first and reunification with family. But that is only talk. Actually no one wants to do anymore than what they have to. They’re hearts are calloused. I’ve been told by numerous works they know how I feel. No!!! No you don’t!! We live with the foster children. All the social worker does is paperwork and an occupational visit. They have no clue what it’s like to console a child all night. Dry the tears from their eyes, unpack their black trash bag (luggage), and the smell of smoke, drugs and filth fill the air. I have even unpacked bags where vomit was still on the clothes of a child that had been abused. Parents had packed them up just like they were and sent them. How degrading and undeserving this is.nChildren have so many emotions they don’t know how to deal with. You listen to every word while they reveal themselves one layer at a time. You do your very best to make sure they feel safe and secure. You give them stability, attention and most of all love.nSo to all the social workers who tell me they understand, I’d say that’s a lack of maturity and compassion on your behalf. It doesn’t take a smart person to figure that out.nI have worked with a few social workers who had their heart in the right place. It is a pleasure to partner with them on behalf of a child. However I have worked with some that treat the child or children like a litter of puppies “free to a good home”. And they’re done.nWhat has happened to our world? Why is our great nation so broken. Everyone covers for each other so no one gets in trouble for a broken system.nWhen you contact them on a issue each worker you talk to blames the other worker for dropped the ball. Not one person will admit to mishandling a situation with a child. Everyone is too proud to admit they messed up. So, at the expense of a child they pass off the blame and never consider what will happen in the long run.nFamily is all we have. A family bond is most important. If at all possible please someone stand up for the children and keep them together. They need each other and deserve to be together. They’ve been hurt and neglected enough, please don’t punish them anymore.nnLove, compassion and stability. That’s all they want. Tanya
Lee county MS gave my husband, custody of his three kids 3_2017. Their mother, Tiffany walters and her boyfriend, Thomas Moore Atkins ( not sure of his last name, court didn't make them make it clear.) Had murdered their dogs and made the three kids throw the dogs over the fence.nThey beat the kids with many things/ objects.nKids kept lice and scabies.nZach(8) had to bathe, clean and be sole care giver for 9 year old, disabled Luke.nTiffany left kids with strangers such as child abusers, Katrina cornwell while she chased her boyfriend down for days.nThe list goes on.nWe had a crooked lawyer, jeff waldo. He is a felon now due to taking drugs to his client in jail. Ms CPS worker Kim referral to him.nGal Alexander Simpson put kids back in home because Tiffany paid first and we didn't make it to court due to Dr. Visits. We where getting kids meds, docs, therapy. ONLY had 3 days notice of court. Judge barred jonathan from seeing kids June of 2017. Child support has harrassed us.nnWe filed complaints on all and they let judges and lawyers off the hook.Dec 2017 Hannah was molested and molested a little girl. CPS did nothing.nnNow, this past weekend, Luke died because no one was watching him. Ms CPS and the courts , gal, judges have allowed these kids to be abused over and over. Now one of them is dead. They have a healthy, safe home with their father in Arkansas. It's time Mississippi place them there immediately. They liked, cheated the court, broke no contact orders, had a fake wedding, didn't do drug tests and now caused a child's death because as usual, where not watching him and he choked to death.
