Great little local park that highlights a little known but important battle. The battlefield is well preserved and they have done an excellent job of showing how the battle unfolded.
Interesting little roadside stop, my boys liked the cannons
Needs restrooms or porta toilet. Other than that, nice leisure walk and good for history.
Line up of cannons with interpretive signs was impressive.
The gun batteries above the creek rival Vicksburgs gun line near the Illinois monument. Very well kept and the markers are very informative. Very small battle but it’s savagery was equal to the worst of bigger battles of the war just on a smaller scale. The accounts of the battle testify to this
