Everything was closed tight. I guess for virus reasons, but only have open the dock and boat ramp. Forcing everyone to only use one dock doesn't help the virus. Will change my review upon the first positive experience after it opens up and the government stops herding us as sheep.

This little lake is cute. We went on a Wednesday early afternoon. I caught 3 small fish and threw them back. There is this little island that you can walk to over the bridge. It has trees for nice covering and a bench. We stayed for about 2.5 hours. It was really relaxing. Not crowded at all.

The swimming area was open, but not the bathrooms. They had porta potty's instead which seems rediculous since you can be much more clean in an actual restroom. How many people have washed their hands in a porta potty versus in a restroom with running water. If you don't want the bathrooms open, you shouldn't be open. Especially when you are charging people $5 per vehicle and they can't even use the facilities.

Love this lake. Been going since I was a kid. Full of adventure.

Chewalla lake is just what we were looking for...a place in nature. The site had electric and water. We were able to hook our pop up camper to the site and enjoy lights, our stove and oven, fridge, shower, and toilet. We used to tent camp with nothing but nature, but we are getting old and need a good matress and air conditioning.nWe brought some fun things for the kids...water guns full of dye and t shirts, water and grow calcium reefs, little hand held games, lots of food and snacks..the sites have picnic tables and fire pits. There is a swimming beach, which we swam at every day. The temp of the water was warmnthe beach was gorgeous sand. The showers were clean. It's a push button shower. No matter what you do, your things will get wet....but you can get clean. The bathrooms are decent. 2 toilets ran out of toilet paper, but I just brought my own. No biggie. We enjoyed three great days here. If you want to camp in nature, this is where you need to go.
