Hair Braiding Studio

It was my first time going, I had a 9.30am appointment and arrived at 9.16am. When it hit 9.38am I asked where my stylist was and was met with a very rude response. I explained that as a customer (especially being my first time) they ought to at the very least explain and apologise for the delay for which I was met with attitude. Eventually my stylist Amy showed up at 9.52am without an apology. After ripping through my natural hair with an Afro comb and blow dryer she proceeded to braid - it was clear from then that she wasn’t going to handle my natural hair well. The cainrows came out neatly and how I wanted but they are so tight that I am now going to take them out as it’s been a few days and I’m still in agony. She also didn’t do some single plaits in the middle of the bun so all the tension is in the middle where the hair has been pulled. She spent the whole time on her phone and proceeded to take pictures when she was done without even communicating with me. Experience reminded me why I braid my hair myself and don’t patronize such businesses. It doesn’t make you want to spend your money there or come back if the atmosphere is unwelcoming.nnUpdate: it’s now 3 days since doing the hair and I’ve take it out - happens to be the day before my birthday and I was hoping to have this style in. I started to develop red bumps around my edges and I’ve just had a migraine from all the tension on my hair. My scalp is so sore and tender! NEVER AGAIN

Braids were really neat and the stylist moved fast. I didn’t have an appointment, I just walked in one morning as she was finishing another client. The only downside is she wasn’t wearing a mask and kept coughing and sniffing. Fortunately, I didn’t get sick, but in a time like this, everyone should be precautious.

Amy is very rude and very rough. She always has an attitude especially if you ask her not to take pictures of you. I’ve been going for years and they do good hair but they are unprofessional, rude and aggressive as hell. Pros to going here : include hair , can walk in , sometimes fast but Amy is rude and too aggressive. Some other braider are nice , gentle and sweet but she needs to check her attitude.nnAlso always lying about being available , will usually have 2 or 3 heads in front of you and won’t apologize for it or give you a discount !

Love how fast they do hair and it's also very neat. My only problem is there is a language barrier so sometimes when I say something, they think I'm saying something else.

This place is so unprofessional it’s ridiculous. I have scheduled appointments and told them when I would arrive and they were not in the building. Their open sign was posted, but they weren’t in the building. They also kept changing and telling me when they would be there. This place is very unreliable. There are 20 other surrounding braiding studios in STL do not go here.
