Hawken House

Great reception hall or wedding venue plenty of room and the surrounding areas aesthetics are great

I've been familiar with the Hawken House since I played baseball on the Southwest Park ballfield (located behind this historic house, which was built in the 1850's). Although tours are available, I've never been inside the house, which is also home to The Webster Groves Historical Society. The Hawken family developed the Hawken rifle, which was extremely popular in the old west. The Hearth House, right next door, is a banquet hall, which is available for rental.

The Hawken House is a small house museum that pays tribute to the Hawkens rifle - the rifle that made westward expansion possible. There are many neat things to learn here. There is also a small hall with a very pretty exterior for small weddings and other celebrations.

Interesting historical site. Not much info about the gunsmiths.
