Sent to us from our client Chris (Mary) WalshnnAs part of my post cancer treatment, my oncologist prescribed a drug that can affect my bone strength--a side effect of this medication can be the development of osteoporosis. A year ago I had a bone density test as a baseline—my doctor assumed that within a year my bone strength would be weakened. To try to counteract this effect, I started taking a daily calcium supplement, and continued my strength training with Skip. Last week I had the follow-up bone scan—results were great. My doctor’s reaction was “whatever you are doing, keep it up.” Just signed up for more training sessions with Skip!

I have been a client of Skip’s for over five years. He is consistently upbeat and non-judgmental – he encourages me to push myself little by little to the next level. Skip is also incredibly knowledgeable on a variety of health topics including nutrition and muscular conditions. And he has especially proven his worth in this last year as I have recovered from breast cancer—through his training and course work he understands the steps necessary to help me heal and strengthen my body—he has even coordinated my workout plan with my physical therapist.nI think of Skip as more than my trainer – he is my life health coach. He is the reason that I find myself at the gym twice a week. I enthusiastically recommend Skip to anyone who wants to improve their physical conditioning but needs help and motivation to do so—he will keep you coming back for more.

I've had a great experience working with Farhana while training in a group setting. She strives to help her clients reach their personal best - not only in training/at the gym but also their holistic health. Whether its diet, motivation, stress, injuries...she helps troubleshoot the issues and then offers solutions to address them. You can tell she has such a passion for the work she does - she is constantly learning and applying that knowledge to her training and goes above and beyond for her clients. She also balances tough love with a great sense of humor :)

The staff at Freedom Fitness are there to help everyone! Even though I’m not their specific client, other trainers are always willing to lend a hand. Larry, my trainer, has helped motivate me to reach goals well beyond what I expected when I first started training. My trainer, Farhana, is outstanding! She found where my strengths and weaknesses are and adjusts my workouts to accommodate me. She always makes sure I’m in perfect form and is very patient with me. I can tell I’m getting stronger. It’s a slow process but I know it’ll be well worth it in the end.
