After using this firm, and it’s founder, for years in a divorce and custody case, she filed papers to remove herself from my case without me knowing. My ex, and his new “girl friend” lied to have me arrested, and while I was being held in isolation at the County Detention Center— rather than helping me— she abandoned me. I (in writing with a safety pencil and over the phone), my mother (over the phone and email), and my domestic abuse advocate (thru multiple methods) reached out to her— and rather than a quick response to anyone, she chose to take the time to file lengthy papers and go to court to have herself legally removed. I, meanwhile, was sent to a state facility because I couldn’t (without any representation or even having seen the charging documents) adequately articulate myself enough to prove I was mentally able to participate in my own defense. I lost custody, years of my life and time seeing my children, and untold tens of thousands of dollars. Ms. McClernan had been my attorney and advocate since day 1, and had convinced me NOT to bring charges against my abusive spouse (then ex-spouse) until the divorce and custody were settled. That is the worst advice (legal or otherwise) I have ever received.

I had Marsha William's represent me during an emergency custody case . I have to admit before I say anything about my case . I had personally done somethings earlier in my life that didn't make this an easy job for her . However she still did a OKAY JOB . MY ADVICE TO ANY ONE IN ST MARYS GOING THROUGH A CHILD CUSTODY CASE IS OUT OF COUNTY LAWYERS !!!! I'm giving her 4 stars instead of 5 because after being in the law library for a year I dont think she represented me to the best of her ability . The judge said some pretty unfavorable things I actually should had reported only the 180 days is passed and she probably didn't want to make the judge angry . Not to mention the judge used to work for the other party's attorney. This is why I suggest OUT OF COUNTY LAWYERS . I haven't seen my daughter since the day I returned her to my mother . If u have a open and shut case shes probably great however if u want someone that's going to fight for u the way u would urself WITH OUT HAVING TO WORRY ABOUT IF THEY ARE GOING TO PISS THE JUDGES OFF THEN GET SOMEONE FROM OUT OF THE COUNTY
