There is so much to love about this place. The history, the restored lighthouse, the wonderful park-like grounds, and I like to go there on my boat and fish the waters nearby. Full disclosure: one of my ancestors was the lighthouse keeper for a while. And the restored lighthouse is truly a marvel. A true Southern Maryland gem.

Awesome day trip. Spectacular views, and historical landmarks. We took the Water Taxi II from the museum to the island. We stayed on the island for 2 hours, went exploring, swam, and had a picnic lunch before our return. Highly recommend.

This was a unique day trip. Nice museum with supper friendly staff. Then a boat ride to the island with a talented Captain on a small but comfy boat. Wear comfortable footwear as there is a decent walk on the island to the lighthouse, but nice and peaceful. Great idea for a date as lots of chances to chat along the way. Give it a try

This is an amazing place to visit for a day trip. There are picnic tables setup in various spots. The docks for boats could use a little renovation. If it's windy out, your boat might get scuffed up quite a bit. Overall, very much worth the time.

Great day at Appraisal Fair! Bill Curry from Hammer's Antiques appraised my items. Only 5 bucks per item donation to the museum. Phenomenal colonial 1600s museum of So Md heritage! Honorable mention to Dori Lear from Auction Appraisers as well! On a side note, as soon as I sell the treasures I had appraised, I will be buying that small island pictured here, a condo in Florida, one in the Bahamas, and a second home in Las Vegas! HELLO retirement!!!
