Turkey Hill Park

Meh, parking sucked for a big vehicle and was not so great for a picnic.

The fenced off no-leash dog park is large and there is a cool agility training course. There’s also a smaller fenced off section for dogs who may need it such as puppies or shy dogs.nFor running or walking, one loop around the soccer fields is approximately half a mile. I ran here for a few weeks and noticed that many people walk their dogs without leashes (about 3 out of every five days I would encounter this), including larger dogs, even though there are signs everywhere saying dogs must be leashed at all times. I love dogs but I don’t always trust their owners to have trained them properly or ensure a friendly temperament. I also noticed people in cars in the parking lot just sitting there, and moving from lot to lot (there are about 5) on more than one occasion, maybe I’m paranoid but that made me a little uncomfortable as well. The park is enclosed by woods and there is no visibility from 301 or turkey hill and the park is often empty.nI still return for the dog park, but I don’t feel comfortable running here alone.
