Widewater State Park

Pretty little park at the confluence of Aquia Creek and the Potomac River, with an emphasis on little. As someone who is primarily interested in hiking, I was disappointed that the only trail was not even a mile long. But there was a nice playground, a picnic area and kayaks and canoes for rent. The visitor center was closed on Sunday which was also a little disappointing. The park is definitely off the beaten path, so if you're looking for somewhere to enjoy the outdoors that's not too crowded, this park might be right for you.

Not alot to this state park but, it's newer. It's very pretty though the trails are muddy. We visited alot of state parks & this one by far had the nicest rangers & the cleanest bathrooms

The place is marvelous. The ground are very quiet and filled with many native animals. The location is right next to a wide part of the river and it is full of historical coffee. It is well worth a joyful visit

not really what we expected to see except silence and clean air :)

This park has water access on Aquia Creek and the Potomac! (For viewing or small boat launch, not motor boats yet nor swimming). Very scenic.nBeautiful time kayaking today! Saw great blue herons and eagles. Snails making tracks on the bottom of the stream. The fish were playful and splashed my son. Gorgeous spot! Our dogs love the trails here.
