Came out for the day just to be near the water. Enjoyed the Fossil Beach trail by the visitor center which wasn't too long and led to a cute little beach area. Got turned around on our way out and ended up over by the river trail which had a nicer and slightly larger beach area. Important to note there is a $10 fee on the weekends ($7 on weekdays) to drive into the park. You just leave cash in a deposit slip if there is no one in the entryway post (which there was not when we arrived around 2pm on a Saturday).

We decided to go for a few days and camp. Camp host greeted us right after we parked and had our passes, etc. They were right across from us, so it was easy. It was our first time using the RV we purchased. The RV spot was ok, the bathrooms were very clean. The weather was perfect! It was quite a walk down to fossil beach, but my time there paid off! I was able to find SIX shark teeth in the one afternoon I was down there. One was the smallest I think I have ever seen! Can’t wait to go back!

Really nice boat ramp, nice easy slope with good traction on the ramp. Very nice, new pier. Excellent price to launch a boat and park your truck and trailer ($ 10.00). Plenty of room to park. And the Park Rangers and other employees are super nice and friendly.

The sites were small, but clean and well maintained. The Fossil Beach is more crowded than I'd have expected, even in the middle of March. The trails are very nice, and I greatly enjoyed the informational signs along the way.

Awesome state park. Does cost money to come here was $7 for our car for the day. There were multiple campgrounds, parking areas, and places to enjoy this park. There was a little goods shop, picnic benches and grill spots. Not many people this time of year. Highly recommend the easy big meadows trail to the fossil beach. Trails were relatively dry considering how much rain we’ve had recently. Really beautiful park.
