Poverty point was actually really good. The information was great. Love the hike it is better than driving. You really get a feel of the size of the area that the tribal village was on. Walking to the top of the main mound shows the scope of engineering to build such a phenomenal structure during that time period.
Really great experience of a unique place on Earth. Interesting and several ways to tour the archaeological site from thousands of years ago — definitely worth a quick trip off the beaten path for some important human history!

Step back into time and experience something truly amazing! There is a lot of history here and the visitor center has tons of relics and useful information about the site! The mound is amazing to see also!
