This was a lovely surprise while taking a short walk within the Jungle Gardens on Avery Island. The Buddha overlooks a lagoon within an area of tons of huge mature live oaks. There are benches to sit and enjoy the environment. We really enjoying walking around the lagoon and up to Buddha. The walk is not handicap accessible with stairs to cross over the lagoon and stepping stones on the trail that could be difficult to walk on.
Such an amazing place to go. Unique and very relaxing. Not something you see very much of in Louisiana
Very serine and peaceful...while being a little eerie due to the known presence of alligators.
Avery island is so peaceful. Truly moves one back in time.
Fantastic 900 year-old Buddha in the middle of a giant shadowy swamp garden. Otherworldly..
