Had a wonderful visit to Longwood today — definitely worth a tour, especially on a beautiful day.nnLongwood is situated in the middle of Natchez, MS, but the property is remarkably quite and has an aide of being secluded far in the countryside.nnThe tour costs about $26 each after booking. It begins in the small gift shop and proceeds as a guided tour through the finished “basement” of the property first where you are given the history of the property and the Nutt family.nnThe tour then proceeds up to the first floor, which is unfinished and fascinating. Although you are not permitted to explore any higher, you can easily see the other floors when standing in the spectacular rotunda.nnAfter the formal tour, you are encouraged to further explore the grounds including the cemetery and a couple of other small buildings.nnThe entire experience is about an hour or so and is a nice way to view a little bit of an architectural marvel and understand it’s history.

Amazing home. The architecture was beautiful. I loved the furniture. Kenny, our tour guide, provided so much information about the home and the family who lived there. Thank you Kenny

This was fantastic. Our tour guide was Gay and she was incredible. The pace of the tour was on point and her knowledge seemed endless. It was obvious that she loves history and her job. I also loved the fact that after the tour is over your aloud to roam the beautiful grounds at your leisure. If you have any interest in history this is a must see.

This is the most interesting mansion in Natchez. Some people don’t like it as much because it’s unfinished and not the traditional southern mansion style. To me, that’s what made it so interesting. Great story and it’s really cool to view the unfinished areas upstairs. It’s kind of looking at a cut-away of the building. I highly recommend it.
