I very much enjoy shopping at this store. The employees are very polite and the selection of products is amazing. I was walking through the store just the other day trying to find something and this red headed young man ask me if I needed any help. He pointed me in the right direction and even helped me pick which product was best. Thanks Alexander’s and keep up the awesome work!

I shop here almost every couple of months when I’m in Baton Rouge visiting my adult children only because they do have some items that aren’t available at the chain stores. That being said, those items are priced much higher than I pay for the same items at Publix in Florida where I live. As an example, Happy Eggs are $7.29 per dozen as opposed to $5.15 at home. That’s a significant difference. Anyway, today I got the kick in the face when my $385 grocery bill could not be discounted because I don’t have the rewards program OR the digital discount program, which are two separate programs. And you can’t sign up and get credit for today’s order because you have to do it online and wait a week for your card. And there’s no in-store option for coupons that are clearly pasted to the shelves. I have never seen a store that’s less interested in creating customer loyalty. I won’t be back. I suppose I’ll be making the trip to Whole Foods next time instead of supporting a local family business. Too bad.

They have beautiful flowers here. Edit: they also respond to reviews, and quickly. I need to stop by the market more. It looked like they have great produce. I should check out their cheese and meats as well ud83dude01.

I'm editing my previous review of Alexander's after the owner himself reached out to me to make this situation right. I was blown away by his responsiveness and commitment to owning the customer's experience and ensuring he's doing everything he can to create a raving fan. I know that Alexander's is not going the be the low-cost grocery store, but there are some items I can't really get anywhere else without going to Whole Foods. I'd much rather support a locally-owned business, so I will be back. (Just make sure if you want to take part in their loyalty program or digital coupon program you sign up BEFORE you go.) They have an amazing selection of dairy-free cheese, and a solid stock of other quality dairy-free items (except cashew milk ice creams, which can be found elsewhere). They also have a lot of gluten-free options; the bread I bought there tasted very fresh! Their produce was of good quality and freshness, too. Staff was friendly. There is a rewards card you can sign up for online or at the service counter, which is good to have as the store is on par with Whole Foods in terms of price. Overall, this store is a good choice for people with dietary restrictions who want to shop local.
