This walk through a cypress swamp on boardwalks and gravel paths was so lovely and interesting. Even though you can hear a slight roar of traffic in the background, we also could hear numerous song birds and get up close to the amazing cypress trees and other vegetation. We took a boat tour through the swamp the day before but felt this walk in the swamp was just as good of an experience. We also enjoyed the nature center exhibits of snakes (hit it at feeding time), the adorable marsupials and funny starling. For $3 per adult, we got more than our money’s worth. One problem: we took the path to the library but at the end of the path , a locked gate blocked us from getting to the library. A plus: staff honored mask-wearing inside and took our temps at the door.
Great atmosphere, friendly and helpful staff.
We went the first time to walk the trails 6 months ago, employee told us no charge for trails, just for the nature center indoor attraction. Today we went to walk the trails, chased down by an employee and told we needed to pay. I guess it just depends on who is working and what day of the week it is! Trail is short, but nice, definitely wouldn't pay to walk it twice!
The trails are awesome. So fun! The exhibits inside, very sad and small tanks for large turtles. I wish they would also teach proper turtle enclosure, size of turtle and size of tank. All in all a nice stop!
Lots of information about the area and near by alike places. There are lots of reptile type creatures inside for you to see. I enjoyed watching the slide show of photos taken there. The trails are short and easy with a beautiful trees and swamps.
