Chief Vann House Historic Site

We had a beautiful spring day to enjoy the site. The indoor movie was helpful in filling in some of the history of the people living here and the school site further down. I recommend the 15 minutes to watch it. The outbuildings have a good set up also. We also took a walk to the creek and spring site.

This is a beautiful place to tour and the people are friendly. I love coming in the summer when the garden is blooming.

Our tour guide was very knowledgeable of the technical requirements for a “floating staircase” inside the mansion house. She explained the load bearing walls that distributed the weight. The thought of hiring such a craftsman to build this speaks to the Wealth of this family.

So much history in thisnplace! Was wonderful day to spend with my friends!
