I love Skippers and have enjoyed their food many times. This visit was for a late lunch and they were packed with a 15 min wait. We were actually quickly seated under that time and the service was very prompt. The restaurant was out of many apps and sides but there was still plenty to choose from including a large order of crab legs. Unfortunately one of the crab cakes was burnt but there was still lots of great shrimp to eat. Highly recommend.

It was a Friday during Lent and the wife and I were looking for some seafood. We were on one of our many treks to FL to visit family. Typically we eat at whatever chain restaurant convenient to I-95. This time we wanted some thing different. We found that Skipper's wasn't out of the way at all. Considering how fast the service is (food showed up in

The food was good. We were told 55 minutes and made it in after 30 minutes. Crab legs were good. Potatoes was huge. Peel and eat shrimp slightly over cooked but good flavor. Glad we got the spicy. We loved the old feel and look. Will go back.

You can't help but give the guys in the oyster bar 5 stars. They are john on the spot with service. Food comes out super fast and hot. Everything item I order is superb. I would highly recommend this restaurant to everyone. I will be back soon.

If your looking for a unique restaurant, with good food, Skippers is definitely the place you should go. Now I had heard about Skippers for years, but have never had the chance to go. But was able to go to skippers the first time in March. I was impressed, so I did the next logical thing any man would do. I took the wife, if she approved, Skippers would be that special date spot. As we entered the restaurant, we had to wait about 4-5 minutes, the waitress was helping a to-go-order. We were seated promptly, I told the wife to get my drink, as I had to go to the restroom. The restroom was clean with auto soap and paper towels dispenser. Arriving back at the table, drinks had already arrived and so were the menus. The menu is cut and dry, this is a seafood restaurant, and it has a seafood menu, with a generous amount of land lover choices. We settled for the Seafood Duo plate, you get a choice of 2mains and 2 side dishes. I got the scallops and oysters, my lady got the shrimp and oysters. I also got an order of McIntosh Crab Cake, which I highly suggest you try, the cake with the sauce is just delectable. When we ordered the waitress made sure to ask about little things, like if wanted the seafood fried or broiled and if wanted the appetizer immediately, which I did ask for. She brought out the crab cake. It is brought out on one plate, with 2 forks and knives, and Skippers sauce and Cocktail sauce. Its kind of romantic if its a dinner for two, sharing a plate. I let the wife go first, she loved it, the crab cake was delicious and the Skippers sauce was worth buying a gallon. After we finished the crab cake, and drank our drinks, the main course arrived, hot and ready. On my plate crispy golden scallops and oysters with potato salad and coleslaw, on my lady’s plate crispy gold shrimp and oysters with potato salad and grits. As we ate, we discussed how fresh the food tasted, the potato salad was awesome and she even took a bite of my coleslaw (she is not a veggie person), and said it was delicious. After we were done, we skipped dessert, we were as full as ticks. As we left, I left the waitress a good tip, she was prompt with keeping out cups full and with checking in on us, really makes you feel wanted. And if you don’t accurately tip a waitress or waiter, shame on you or if you don’t tip in cash. As we were leaving we decided that Skippers is definitely a date go too. It may be a little pricey, but you definitely get what you pay for, quality food, service, and good memories.
