Pretty cool glass work, but definitely on the pricier side. It's great for almost treating like a gallery to see some unique glass pieces. It's really neat to know that it is locally made because some of the sculptures created are ridiculously done by some talented folks! Be careful though because if you break something you're liable to pay for it.nnThey also do glass blowing demos on the hour. If you purchase admission to Chihuly Collection around the corner, you get this for free and access to the Morean Art Gallery as well!
Just another fun thing to do in Dt St Pt. Tickets are now only $7, you can purchase at the Chihuly as an add on or just head to the shop and get them there. The demonstration is about 45 min long and the staff are cool and informative. Also we think Benji may be an alien because he does not sweat and he was wearing a sweater.
Original art at affordable prices. And the opportunity to watch glass blowing in person. A fun excursion.
Unfortunately due to Covid there aren't as many classes available to take but the 2 star is not for this, it's actually for the pricing on some of the glass pieces.nnI as a maker and creator understand that the price for products comes from craftsmanship and time but many and I mean many of the pieces there were $80+ for pieces that were not good or remotely appeared like what they were supposed to have. If I asked for a horse glass piece and it looked like a cone with legs then I think it shouldn't cost just as much a more beautiful and clear piece .
Bought this piece after watching a fantastic live demonstration of glass blowing. The artist was super nice and explained the project he was working on. The manger of the shop was delightful and gave us a ton of useful information. We will be backud83dude0eud83dude0e
