Thurgood Marshall Fundamental Middle School

It is all good, at Thurgood! : ) My son just finished 3 years at Thurgood.... Dr.Lowery the principle is awesome.The overall experience was good...However.....there are some fowl mouth kids that attend, and seem to get away with it, without the teachers reprimanding them. So watch out for that...and if your child is not a bus rider, the pick up sequence is a complete nightmare. It needs supervision during end of school pick up. Overall however... We are happy with our experience .

This school sucks don't send your children here, it is a waste of time and money. That is why I left that trashy place, go to Admiral Farragut Academy it is lit and you actually learn something. The food is cooked by chef's, at Thurgood it is all frozen food put in the microwave then served to children. And there is too much ghetto people and drugs going around. Don't send your children here!

It's okay. Their are a lot of good things and bad things.The teachers are ok but some like to ignore u and walk right past if u call their name.Also the food is ok and waiting for your lunch sometimes takes a while.Their were about 5 fights this year and the teachers stopped them very well, especially Mr.Forbes. My most of the kids their are bad in the sixth and seventh in the regular program.Most are good in the traditional program.In the bathrooms their are a lot of weird things wroten on the stalls.At if you have at least one piece of trash under your table. Miss Wilson is quick to give you a detention. she will give the whole table group A detention. Overall the classrooms are always clean and the bathrooms are always clean. The bus circles and Carr Circle rotations are very neat and good. The gym class is very easy to pass and get an A in. There is little homework given in each classes but when put all together there is a lot. I go to Thurgood Marshall and I'm in the sixth grade my experience so far since it is almost the end of the year is okay. I kind of like it but next year I might be going to Admiral Farragut which is way better.

This school is just amazing. The Gifted Program is very helpful for those in need of it. Everyone there I met so far is just so kind and supportive. I've learned so much already and it has been only a few months. This is definitely the middle school to choose!

We are on our third child going through Thurgood and have been very happy with the experience and the results. Our first went through the regular program and on to the IB program at St. Pete (which he left and I wouldn't recommend for any but the most, truly driven students). Our next two entered the gifted magnet there and did great. An excellent program and good school overall. Our kids have witnessed some behavioral issues in the halls (it is the hormonal-factory-on-overdrive that every middle school is, after all), but the school seems to deal with those students swiftly and decisively.
