What I love about this park is that it is big enough to get sun and shade yet small enough so that you don't forget where you parked. . The landscape is beautiful. The waterfall is a nice spot to simply meditate and reflect. It's the perfect outdoor area for parties and other activities.

Large park with open green spaces. The playground is small, but has engaging features. There is a long trail around the perimeter of the park. There are historical markers and statues about the Navy since the park used to be the Orlando Naval Training Center.nnWhile there a few beautiful features like the fountain, overall not much of a naturally scenic park compared to other parks in Orlando.

Blue Jacket Park is a municipal facility with a double wide cement walking path and a large working fountain which is dedicated to enlisted Navy (AKA Blue Jackets). There is a small children's playing area adjacent to restroom. It's big draw is a large field where often people gather to play soccer, touch-football, or hurling (an Irish ball and stick game) on a Sunday afternoon. It needs to be mowed more often.

A wonderful park with tons and tons of green space and walking/biking/running/dog walking friendly sidewalks!nnWe've walked this park and also attended several 5ks here. The only issue here is that the parking nearby is limited when it gets busy. When there is an event or run the parking goes quick. I recommend you allow ample time before hand to arrive early to get a decent spot.nnThe green area has some areas that allow dogs, but they are completely welcome on sidewalks. They ask that you, of course, clean up after them if needed. There are trash cans every few hundred feet.nnOverall: AnParking can get tricky but otherwise an excellent park for just about anything!

I've lived in this community going on four years now, while also being an Orlando native. For the past four years this park has been a weekly destination, if not more often, for skateboarding, walking the dog, relaxing, meditating, playing sports, and working out. Among many more such similar activities. It is safe. I have been there star gazing (the very few stars, planets, and moons you can see while in the city) in the early evenings to perhaps an hour or two past dusk with no fear. I have never once seen anyone suspicious or up to nefarious activities. And even most of the locals, who live right there, are bearable. Other than making ridiculous claims about graffiti artists they don't get up and ornery too much with the visitors. Probably one of the best places to watch the sunset or moonrise in the city. Plus its a strong reminder of the old Navy base that once helds its grounds.
